The paper deals with the utilizing of the 3D - mathematical modelling (software CESAR LCPC) for the new design of the emergency dam in the drift. On the basis of the realized analysis there were formulated the recommendations for the thickness of the dam with respect to the construction material (Tekblend, Jb, Izolitex), the shape of the dam (conical or non-conical shape) and external stabilization of the dam in the rock mass.
