The thermal load of the tunnel lining is an integral part of every static calculation. By monitoring these temperature changes, it has been shown that it is necessary to take this load into account to a certain extent. The paper contains several examples of monitoring temperature changes in highway tunnels and the application of measurements to the calculation of tunnel lining loads.
