Map of new thematic layer called “seismic characteristic of foundation conditions” for selected area of Karvina region is presented in this contribution. Complicated conditions due to local geology and mining activities are typical of the region of Karvina (especially mining induced seismic loading). This area is also densely populated and many significant buildings and structures, including historical buildings and cultural monuments, can be found in the region under discussion. Hence, Karvina region was selected as studied area for creation of maps of conflict of interests. Presented map of thematic layer “seismic characteristic of foundation conditions” presents situation in the year 2008 for area of Stonava.
