The article describes a method employed to evaluate seismic load, using the medieval Jeronym Mine as an example. The evaluation is based on experimental measurements taken by seismic instrumentation located in underground workings. The records can be divided into the following groups: natural seismicity (micro-earthquakes in West Bohemia and manifestations of distant strong earthquakes); and technical seismicity (blasting work during the renovation of the mine’s drainage adit and in quarries in the vicinity, traffic on the road above the mine).
