The article presents recalculation of the fatigue life estimate of a temporary, high strength steel bridge for tram traffic built in 1977 in Prague. Fatigue life assessment is now based on fully probabilistic concept. The loading as well as response history was considered and a fatigue criterion, based on the stress-range concept, was applied. Crack growth was modelled using LEFM procedures and compared with observed real cracks in the bottom flanges after about three and a half years of use. In the end the bridge had to be removed.
